Was looking for a regional dinner that was not just poutine, crepes and burgers. Found this as an indigenous suggestion on reddit which is our first time trying and turned out to be excellent. From the service to the food, everything was great at Sagamite. Our server was superb and had excellent recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and meal. The decor was interesting as was the birthday song from the staff.

Lovely and delicious! This restaurant is an awesome gem. They are a First Nations restaurant, offering a delicious gastronomy by using traditional ingredients from the area. We were extremely lucky that they were able to seat us without a reservation, but I strongly recommend you to make one in advance. We had the traditional Sagamite soup and the onion one as appetizers. You will have plenty of options to pick your main dish from fish, meat, pasta, and even pizza. Their traditional bread was top-notch, and we ended buying an entire loaf to bring home. Service was great, thanks, Sabrina, and the rest of your team!

One of the best meals of our trip! Our server was fantastic, we came in on a rainy day and was welcomed, sat, served and conversed with the same gentleman as there was only one other table. I didn’t catch his name, but he was a delight and made great menu suggestions. The elk was wonderful and tender. The duck pizza was delicious. The crust was airy and crispy and chewy - so good. Prices and selection are better than in old town as well!

Eleven years ago in 2013, Sagamite was a nondescript neighborhood diner. We were tourists in Quebec and we just had our first taste of "wapiti" (elk) meat from their kitchen. It was served as burgers. Back in Quebec this time (2024), we tried to revisit some sites/sights. After a trip to the Wendat Museum, we tried to look for Sagamite. Lo and behold! We were greeted by an obviously revamped restaurant. Looking more upscale than ever, even the menu has changed. No more wapiti burgers! Instead, they have their meats and other dishes plated and served quite beautifully! They really did a remarkable number on that corner diner! The interior of this new Sagamite was really nice, airy, clean, and it "spoke" to us (customers) about the great Wendat culture. Surprisingly, our server, the affable "Robert," revealed that he had already been with Sagamite when we first dined there all those years ago. He and the establishment had obviously carried so much history together. The service was wonderful, and the food was excellent. If we ever go back to Quebec a third time, Sagamite would definitely be on our must-do list again. It in itself was an exceptional experience. As an added bonus, after our hearty meal, we were able to revisit Kabir-Kouba Falls, which, as Robert said, was almost literally a stone's throw away from the parking lot of the restaurant.//

The best dining experience in Wendake! From the moment we arrived, our server Robert warmly welcomed us and went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. After learning about our dietary preferences, he thoughtfully suggested meal options and even recommended a white wine to complement our choices. We started with the Smoking Pipe appetizer—melted Calumet cheese that practically melted in our mouths. We were thrilled to learn that both the Walleye and Char were locally sourced. The Walleye fillet was cooked to perfection, topped with a delightful chutney of cranberry, corn, tomato, ginger, and roasted almonds, served on a bed of wild rice with hearty vegetables on the side. The Char, served on a bed of corn chips like nachos, was complemented with sour cream, corn, and cheese, an unexpected and delicious twist. But the highlight of our experience was the beautiful surprise we got for a birthday. Robert and his colleague serenaded us with song and drum, while presenting our dessert—maple pie with a lit candle. It was an unforgettable touch. As we left, we took a moment to explore the restaurant, admiring the space and displaying handicrafts, reflecting on the truly wonderful experience we had.

Great experience overall. We loved the food and ambiance! We had the potence des trois panaches, which gives you the opportunity to try many types of meat. The server was very friendly and welcoming.

Came on a Monday night with my partner. Service was excellent and attentive. We really enjoyed our set dinner. We were so full at the end. Our server asked if we'd like to pack our second dessert to go which was thoughtful of him. Highly recommend
